Learning Lab for Serving in Elected Office

Learning Labs are about the journey from candidate to elected official, with recently elected women sharing their learnings. Third Thursdays at Three, ET! Come with your questions and we’ll have the support team ready to share their experiences. Our first Learning Lab will be on January 21, 2021 at 3pm EST with Mayor- Elect Amáda Márquez Simula, of Columbia Heights, Minnesota.


  • Amáda is widely recognized as an active leader in Columbia Heights and was the 2017 Columbia Heights Humanitarian of the Year. She is the first person of color to win elected office in her city. She brings a wealth of experience:
