An Act of Love: How We Can Get Through This Together
In times of great need our instincts tell us to come together, to share the burden and to work side-by-side to make it better. The act of solidarity in the time of coronavirus -- social distancing -- feels at odds with our best intentions. But please know we are doing what’s right for our first responders, healthcare workers, and those who are most at-risk.
It is so much more than an ounce of prevention, it is an act of love.
While we transition into a new normal, please know we are in this together. Vote Run Lead is ramping up our digital connectedness to keep our network strong, to keep women candidates competitive, and to bring you information about issues that affect our community.
First, we want to hear from you:
What are your questions? What are you seeing and hearing that can be shared as a resource to our community? Send us an email or reach us through Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram
Second, here’s what you need to know right now:
Primary Elections Dates are changing. Keep up to date on social media (while verifying your sources) and check Ballotpedia.org, who is keeping track of state-by-state information.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201) has been passed in the House of Representatives with bipartisan support and is awaiting action in the Senate. Contact your Senator through the US Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 or sign on to MomsRising.org petition.
Finally, what’s coming from Vote Run Lead:
We’re pulling together a brain trust of political leaders and lining up programming for women candidates and their supporters to stay competitive. Have ideas? Email us.
