An act of kindness.

Inspiring Women and 5 Actions for You.

Last week we talked about your act of love -- social distancing -- and how powerful our collective act of staying in and staying apart is. Thank you again.

This week, we are celebrating women who are leading with kindness. These three members of the Vote Run Lead family will inspire you. And, we’ve got five doable actions for you to be kind to yourself and to others.

Tishaura Jones, City Treasurer, St. Louis, MO

As the City Treasurer of St. Louis, one of her first acts was to suspend parking tickets, turn off all the meters, and freeze penalties. We are inspired by Tishaura's continued leadership in implementing the calls to action from the Ferguson Commission. She has moved financial literacy classes to Facebook Live and is providing weekly live chats where she shares resources for those who can't pay their bills.

Genevieve Thiers, Singer and Tech Entrepreneur

Not only did Genevieve put on a live concert for her Chicago neighbors and social media family, she is the creator of #TechYourselfa guide for campaigns to ramp up their digital skills fast. This week, the caregiving company she founded, Sitter City, partnered with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to offer free access for health care workers and first responders to connect with trusted, vetted care-givers. Love it.

Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, Candidate, NY Assembly

Jessica has some of the best emails I've seen from a current candidate. She uses a tool called Action Network and her email, website, and live events are full of infographics and are multilingual. PRO-TIP: She taps experts from the neighborhood, including last week’s session with an epidemiologist, a home-school expert, and a mental health professional. Great best practices!  [*VoteRunLead does not support or endorse candidates.]
